Dutch art, design, and culture were at the core of this study abroad program in July-August of Summer 2022, where we explored Amsterdam’s past history and its present phenomenons. We visited many of the world renowned museums, design firms, and cultural experiences. We were tasked to complete both physical and digital journals to document and contextualize the Dutch art, graphics, and architecture, as well as our experiences throughout the trip. We also completed a final project of our choosing, where I completed a set of poster designs inspired by the local Dutch theater and dance companies. In the Fall of 2022, my work was displayed in a gallery exhibition to showcase our work from the trip to the JMU community.
